Bjørnafjorden TLP concept
The Bjørnafjorden multi-suspension bridge concept was developed to overcome over 5000 m long fjord crossings. Middle pylon is floating on offshore tension leg platform, offering vertical supports by the water buoyancy. The structural design is driven by the dynamical response, where the focus is dynamic loads development and simulations across different software’s. The fully coupled environmental analysis time domain of TLP floating bridge was first successfully accomplished by this group.
Canakkale suspension bridge
Will be the world record in the year 2023 with a main span of 2023 m. The special is back tension cables ware attached at the bridge begin to stabilize main cables. The different soil conditions needed to be considered in the soil-structure interaction seismic action.
Aerodynamic optimization
Efficient aerodynamic design can be achieved by applying modern CFD tools. Different deck cross-section was investigated to investigate the optimal candidate and archive possible material savings. The aerodynamic performance was investigated for flutter check, torsional divergence, and galloping instabilities. The guide vanes were analyzed to achieve possible vortex shedding vibration suppression. The Bjørnafjorden crossing with end cable-stayed bridge offers an aesthetic solution.
